It has come to my attention that in my country barely any people read at my age. I really hate that, especially because they look at me like I'm weird when I tell them I like reading. And then they pick on me. So what I'm getting at is that if you know someone who doesn't like reading or is just too lazy to, help them out, give them a recommendation, 'cos God do i know what happens when no one ever reads. Have you noticed that bullies and criminals are all idiot muscular guys who never just sat down to read? My entire country is like that, believe it or not, and there are like 3 good bookstores in the whole city I live in, which is HUGE. I mean this from the bottom of my heart: when you encourage reading, you're helping reduce bullying and crime. I'm dead serious.

Umm... Your bio says you live in New York. I take it you are NOT in New York City?? NYC is THE home to extremely cool bookstores!! Sorry to hear you are out in the boonies. That's what amazon.com is for, I guess.

Keep encouraging reading!! I had to laugh about your "entire country" statement, though. ;)

Huh? It says i come from New York? That's weird. Well, no, i don't, and i don't use Amazon 'cos...well...I do sumtimes but not often. And it is NOT funny. Well, ok, it is, but I'm serious! The whole damn country reads a book a year! Well, except for my family :D

I agree with you that crime proliferates in places where the education is subpar. I believe that one of the causes stems from a dysfunctional school system that fails to hire competent teachers. Because of bad experiences in school, the kids grow up to be less enthusiastic about reading..

Yeah, in my school I think the biggest problem is that the teachers are all...well, how can I put this...full of hot air, really, making stupid rules and stirring up rebellious feelings. And they sometimes don't even know what they're teaching...
